Pennar has reached an incredible 100% vaccination mark in most of its workplaces. Barring few sites and construction places all the permanent employees and contract labourer got inoculated even second dose. The company has always been at forefront in employees’ welfare.
The Hr department has conducted around 25 workplace vaccination camps in collaboration with its tie-up hospitals across India.
When the vaccine rolled out, the management has taken the decision, that all the employees have to be vaccinated at the workplaces to avoid hardships for employees to run around the hospitals and to avoid the long queues.
It was a challenge for HR to convince and educate certain section of employees who have been stubborn not to take the vaccine for the fear of side effects.
The HR has incessantly worked conducting seminars, webinars, health talks and through emails to educate the employees about the necessity of getting vaccinated and the urgency of it in the larger interest of their health.
Surpassing the vaccine hesitancy, the employees have come forward to get inoculated belatedly otherwise this record achievement would have been done much earlier.
In our Chennai plant all the employees got vaccinated with the Government sponsored workplace vaccinations camps. This facility was not there in any of the other states in India.
The company has a full pledged COVID policy in place and the HR endeavours constantly to implement the same in letter and spirit.
There is a robust mechanism to screen the visitors at gate. All the customers, vendors and other guests are fully checked up with regard to the fully vaccinated proof, and the doctor’s check at our OHCs.
There is temperature screening at gate and all the employees have to go through the fumigation chambers to reach their workplaces every day.
The incoming and outgoing trucks and its crew are fully sanitized before allowing inside the premises for loading and unloading of the materials. Also, the security ensures that all the crew of the trucks shall have fully vaccinated proof before taking them inside the premises.
